REMAINS BROUGHT HERE FROM ST. LOUIS YESTERDAY MORNING FOR BURIAL.
The remains of Robert Paul, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Paul, former well known residents of this city, now living in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, were brought to Lawrence yesterday morning for burial, and interment took place in the afternoon in Oak Hill cemetery.
Robert Paul died suddenly in St. Louis, where he has been making his home, and on receipt of news of his death, his brother, Oliver Oliver Paul, came on from Pittsburg, and
brought the body here. Mrs. Al Paul, his wife and daughter came here from Salida, Colorado, to be present at the funeral.
Robert Paul was born in Lawrence, and was 41 years of age. The cause of his death was rheumatism of the heart, and he died last Tuesday. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver
Paul, pioneers of Lawrence, and among the well known and highly respected citizens of the city. For a considerable length of time Robert Paul was carrier for the Journal
twenty-two years ago; he afterwards served as guard at the state penitentiary and was a soldier in Cuba during the recent Spanish-American war. He had a wide circle of friends in the city.
