SPRINGFIELD - Albert Manci, 84, of Springfield died at 5:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept 18, 2008, at St. John's Hospice.

He was born Aug. 19, 1924, in Gubbio, Italy, the son of Mattia and Teresa (Sebestiani) Manci. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Angelo Manci.

Mr. Manci lived in Springfield since 1947; prior to 1947, he lived in Italy. He was owner and operator of Lincoln Square Tavern, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Church of the Little Flower.

Surviving are his former wife, Alone Rose Manci of Springfield; three daughters, Alba (husband, Ted) Jensen of Plainfield and Gilda Manci Moriconi and Sabrina Manci, both of Springfield; two sons, Matthias "Matt" Manci of San Diego, and Albert Steven (wife, Kelly) Manci of Springfield; eight grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; a brother, Adolfo Manci of Chicago; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at Church of the Little Flower. Visitation will be begin with prayers at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at Church of the Little Flower with Monsignor John Ossola officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
