Mary Ann Gant was the daughter of William C. Gant and his wife Martha. Information from what appears to be Martha's Family Bible has William and Martha marrying in Lincoln Co., TN on Apr. 6, 1831. I also have unsourced information stating that William died in Nov., 1839. I know he died before 1840 because we can see Martha living as a widow in Giles Co., TN.
Mary Ann married first Hiram Frank Balch in Lawrence Co., TN on Nov. 9, 1854. By him she had two children, Louisa Elizabeth and Marion Frank Balch. Hiram Balch died in 1862 based on court records, but his burial place is unknown. Mary Ann then married George W. Hendrix on Jan. 29, 1865 and by him would have children Amanda, Martha, Jasper, Benjamin and Nettie.
