He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, then went on to serve in the Armed Forces during WWII (Navy).
Charles went into the transportation field in 1953 and retired from same in 1988. Friends and co-workers knew him as "Chuck" or "Charlie", his family as "Jack".
He was preceeded in death by his parents, one sister, Claudean, and one brother, Henry.
He is survived by his loving family: Gertrude; sons, Charles, Ron; daughters, Charlotte, Roe; sisters Lillian, Maxine, Florence and Glowdean; brother, Clarence; three grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
