Velma Sims, 80, went to her heavenly home Monday, January 6, 2014 in a local hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was a native of Robeline, Louisiana and was a resident of Ragley for the past 20 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Ragley. Velma worked over 20 years in the Natchitoches Parish Hospital. She was blessed to have a son and was given another blessing in the birth of her grandson. She was able to share that love with her nieces and nephews as well. She will be absolutely missed from this earth.
Survivors include her son; one grandson both of Natchitoches, LA.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Tynes and Della Beason Tynes; both of her husbands, Joseph Lory Plaisance and J.C. Sims; two sisters and two brothers.
Graveside service were held at Thursday, January 9, 2014 in Rocky Mount Cemetery in Robeline, Louisiana. Willis Abshire officiated.
Services were under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
