Emma Heuer,99, dies; rites held Monday
Mrs. Emma Heuer, the oldest resident of Sunshine Villa in Mora, died at the Kanabec Hospital in Mora Thursday, May 29.
Mrs. Heuer celebrated her 99th birthday Feb.23, at the Villa.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 2, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Mora with the Rev. Marcus Buuck officiating.
Max Sherman, Sidney Doering, Elmer Althoff, Arnold Barnick, Theodore Timm and Henry Steckelberg were pallbearers. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
Dresser Funeral Service, of Mora, was in charge of arrangements.
Emma Marie Heuer, daughter of August and Henrietta Arndt, was born Feb. 23, 1876 in Germany. She came to the United States with her parents in 1892 and settled in the Janesville area.
She was married to Fred Heuer May 3, 1899 at Janesville.
They were the parents of four children.
Mrs. Heuer was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, and one daughter, Martha. She is survived by: two sons, Carl of Princeton and Walter of Mora; one daughter, Mrs. John G. Erickson (Edna)of Mora; four grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
