John Wayne was born at Asher, Ky the son of the late Robert Boyd "Bob" Asher & Elizabeth Begley Asher. He was a life long resident of Leslie Co. & was affiliated with the New Hope Community Church.
John Wayne was preceded in death by his parents: Robert Boyd "Bob" & Elizabeth Begley Asher; one sister: Scarlet Asher. He leaves surviving the following relatives; three brothers: Roger Asher, Patrick Asher & Robert Dillon Asher; two sisters: Mary Margaret Asher & Edna Sue Mellons. A host of nieces, nephews & other relatives & friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mr John Wayne Asher were conducted Thursday April 14, 2005 at the New Hope Community Church at Warbranch, KY with Rev. Robert Lee Hacker officiating.
Internment followed in the Asher Family Cemetery at Asher, KY under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff. The following served as pallbearers: Robert Paul Asher, Robert Patrick Asher, Hobert Asher, Roger Asher & Mark Mellons.
