Deacon Isaac E. Hunt was born in Union County, Indiana and was the son of William H. and Elizabeth Hunt, natives of North Carolina, who came to Lee County in the fall of 1852 and engaged in farming.
On February 20, 1844 Isaac was united in marriage to Eliza A. Patterson, who died on March 31, 1858, leaving one son, James Hunt. On March 10, 1859, Deacon Isaac Hunt was united in marriage for the second time to, Ann Eliza McBride, who bore him two sons, Fred R. and Milton K. Hunt. He united with the Baptist Church in 1839 and was appointed deacon in 1859.
