Louisa was the oldest of seven children of Daniel Bisbort, a Civil War Veteran who was born in Germany, and his German-born wife, Catherine (Kern or Cann) Bisbort. Louisa married David Gwynn about 1880, most probably in Philadelphia. They had seven children, all born in Philadelphia. After David's death in 1941, Louisa moved frequently between the homes of her daughters. She spent her last 5 years at the home of her daughter, Edna, in Somers Point, New Jersey.
