A few years ago John Anderson, a farmer on Willow Branch, moved to a farm near Argenta. He has been ill for some time at the home of Mrs. William Rhodes east of Decatur. His death occurred Monday, February 7, 1910. The funeral was held from the residence yesterday and the remains brought to Monticello Cemetery by special tolley car from the highway crossing nearest the farm direct to the cemetery crossing, in charge of A. B. Zybell.
Charles Anderson of Monticello, is a son of the deceased. The widow and several children survive.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the 2nd IL Cavalry and his comrades of the G.A.R. to the number of sixteen came with the remains to the final resting place, accompanied by comrades from along the route.
