John Gross

Pierz - John Gross, 69, St. Mary's Villa in Pierz, died Tuesday, June 4, 1996, at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Villa in Pierz with Father Roger Thoennes officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Lastrup.

Friends may call at St. Mary's Villa on Thursday for one hour before the services. Military rites will be provided by Pierz American Legion.

John was born in Lastrup, on June 11, 1926 to the late John and Gertrude (Kubitschek) Gross. He grew up in the Lastrup area prior to joining the U.S. Army. He served in Japan during World War II. John was employed at his father's hardware store, was a milk truck driver and worked as a farm hand. He had been a resident at St. Mary's Villa for the past 11 years.

Survivors include a brother, Henry Gross of St. Cloud, MN and a sister, Gertrude Gross of Pierz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and two sisters.

Casketbearers were members of American Legion Post # 341.
