L. C. Bilbee Dies After Long Illness

Lewis C. Bilbee, 81, near Vera Cruz, died at his home at 8:10 Tuesday evening. He had been in failing health for about one year and death was attributed to infirmities of advanced age.

Born in Huntington County, Aug 24, 1873, a son of Andrew and Mary Ann Baker Bilbee, his second (actually 3rd.../rwd) marriage was to Gertrude Klein, Nov. 18, 1924, in Wells County.

A retired farmer, Mr. Bilbee was a member of the St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church at Vera Cruz where he had been a teacher for 30 years.

Surviving in addition to the wife, the four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Tom Bilbee, Marion. His first wife(2nd), the former Jemima Johnston, a son and a daughter of the first marriage, five brothers and two sisters are deceased.

The body was removed to the Jahn Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 o'clock this evening. The body will be taken Thursday to the family residence where friends may call after 5 o'clock that afternoon.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church with Rev. Delbert Kaufman and Rev. H. H. Meckstroth officiating.

Burial will be in the Six Mile Cemetery.
