Manchester -- Robert Chambers, 70, of Keuka Lane, Friendly Village, died suddenly Saturday at Clifton Springs Hospital. There are no prior calling hours. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Halsted-Patrick Funeral Home, 19 N Main Street. The Rev. Stephen Ingerson of Manchester Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Mr. Chambers was born in Geneva, June 14, 1910, the son of Wililam and Grace Chambers. He was a veteran of World War II and retired seven years ago as supervisor for BP Oil Company, Utica, and had lived in Friendly Village for the last seven years. He was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 229, Utica, and member of the Manchester Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Lucy; one sister, Mrs. Deedrick (Fern) Mathews of Waterloo; one brother Guy of Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shortsville Ambulance Fund.
