As a girl Zelma was loved by all who knew her and made friends wherever she went. She became a Christian in early life being baptised into the fellowship of Bethlehem (Fork Church) by Rev. J.C. Buckley, and lived a most consistant and consecrated Christian life till God called her home. She was afflicted with complicated troubles some two or three years, but bore the afflictions of the body without a murmur. She was a loving wife. She was so interested in making her home pleasant and happy for her husband and children. She was a great mother, striving to bring her children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
She leaves a husband and a little girl 9 years old, a mother, one brother, five sisters to mourn her going.
Weep not dear ones as those who have no hope. But remember that our loss is Heaven's gain. You are gone dear one, but not forgotten, and we expect to meet you in that sunny clime where cometh no more sorrow, no tears, no pain, and no death, to live together throughout eternity. Your consecrated life and loving voice is becoming us to a higher life, and hope of clasping your hand again on the other side of time.
She was laid to rest in the Holly Grove cemetery near Wisner, La. Her pastor, Rev. C.H. Couch, conducting the services.
