Abraham Stephen Vannoy, 59, of Lincoln, passed away August 19, 2008 in Memorial Medical Center.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 22, 2008 at Atlanta Cemetery, Atlanta, IL with Rev. Larry Crawford officiating. Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at Open Arms Christian Fellowship in Lincoln.
Abraham was born June 29, 1949 in Atlanta, IL to the late Harold M. Vannoy and Budella Bradway Vannoy. He married Joyce Dugan on February 26, 1972 in Lincoln.
He was a Vietnam Veteran proudly serving his country in the United States Navy. He retired from Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers, AK where he worked as a mechanic. He was previously employed at Lincoln College as head grounds keeper until 2004.
Survivors include his wife Joyce of Lincoln; sons Terry Treakle of Lincoln; Bill Treakle and his wife Jeanne of Lincoln; Bruce Treakle and his wife Sue of Atlanta, IL; and daughter Rhonda Gillum and her husband Glenn of Lincoln; 7 granddaughters and 6 grandsons, 22 great-grandchildren, brother Jerry Adams of Atlanta, IL, brother Larry Vannoy and his wife Karen of Atlanta, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 1 daughter, 1 granddaughter, and 2 grandsons.
