Surviving Mr. Bland are his wife, Dawn Bland of Atlanta; one daughter, Charlotte Dee Bland; two sons, Robert E. (Tammy) Bland and Chad (Dianna) Bland; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry Adams and Larry Vannoy, both of Atlanta; and Abraham Vannoy of Lincoln.
Mr. Bland was preceded in death by one sister, Tina Gilmer, and one brother, Dennis Adams.
Mr. Bland was born July 6, 1945, in Lincoln, the son of Frank and Budella Bradway Bland. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Harold Vannoy.
Mr. Bland married Dawn Harris on July 27, 2002, in Middletown. She survives.
Mr. Bland served in the U.S. Army from Feb. 24, 1967, until Oct. 24, 1971. Mr. Bland worked for the General Electric Co. in Bloomington for 28 years. He was a member of the Machinists Union.
He was most recently employed in the maintenance department of Westminster Village in Bloomington.
