Mrs. Bertha Ellen Irwin, resident of Auburn for the last thirty-eight years, died yesterday at her home in Irwin's park, Auburn. She was 55 years old. Death followed an illness of three and a half years.
Mrs. Irwin was born Aug. 3, 1884, at Wayne City. She married James H. Irwin on July 3, 1902, and had resided in auburn since that time. She was a member of the Auburn Catholic church.
Surviving are her husband; seven sons, Thomas E.., Harry, F., Carl F., Charles H., James F., Jess Arthur and Paul Eugene; sisters Mrs. Lena Austin, Mrs. Bernett, and Mrs. A.D. Avery; one granddaughter.
