Minnie Evelyn Danforth
Mrs. Minnie Evelyn Danforth was born at Viroqua, Wisconsin, August 5, 1867, and died at Lake City, Iowa, April 4, 1938. She was the daughter of Deed and Nellie Decker and had been a resident of Lake City since 1897. December 27, 1899, she was united in marriage to Mr. L. F. Danforth of Lake City who preceded her in death a number of years ago.
Mrs. Danforth was a faithful member of the First Baptist church of Lake City, having made public confession of her faith in Christ by baptism on August 4, 1904, and was an active worker in the various departments of the church as long as her failing health would permit.
Mrs. Danforth was also a member and Past Matron of Lake Queen Chapter, No. 119, O. E. S. and a member of the Lake City Garden club.
Besides her many friends, Mrs. Danforth leaves to mourn her departure one niece, Mrs. Ruth Wallace, Council Bluffs; two nephews Arthur Decker, Council Bluffs and M. L. Decker, Sioux City; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ida Decker, Lake City and Mrs. Lena Haynes, Council Bluffs; two step-brothers, Walter Somerby, Long Beach, Calif., and Eugene Somerby, San Bernardino, Calif.
Funeral services were held Friday at the home at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Clayton C. Shepherd officiating. Burial was made in Lake City cemetery.
