Harold grew up on farms and continued to work with his father Mort even after they moved west of Lagrange. Harold also drove truck, worked for a foundry in Elyria, and eventually for a machine shop in Lagrange, where he became shipping manager.
Harold married Gertrude in the Church of Christ on West Herrick Avenue in Wellington on September 9, 1951. They lived in Lagrange near his parents, first in a small farmhouse until 1960, then a larger house down the road until moving to Florida long after retirement. The first home no longer stands as it was destroyed by a tornado in 1965; but both homes were filled with love, laughter, and happy memories.
Harold and Gertrude were both active in church all their lives. Harold loved God and was a great example of a loving father.
Harold enjoyed playing baseball and ice hockey and hunting small game as a young man. Later in life he enjoyed gardening and woodworking in his home shop. He enjoyed music all his life and would pick out a tune at the piano and sing, or occasionally pick up a clarinet.
Harold was and is still loved by many.
