Services for Mrs. Carrie Stanford Alford of Cleveland, 92, widow of Harry Edward Alford, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from Thweatt-King Chapel.... Interment will follow in the New Cleveland Cemetery. Thweatt-King Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Alford died Friday at 12:30 a.m. at the Care Inn Nursing Home following a long illness.

Born in Acona [Holmes Co.], she attended Acona School. In 1904, she graduated from the Old Infirmary Nursing School, the first in Mississippi. She married Harry Edward Alford on January 10, 1906 in Acona. He preceded her in death in May 2, 1966. They moved to Skene community in 1911 where he farmed until his retirement. She was a member of the Yale Street Baptist Church.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Emma) Gilmer of Memphis and Mrs. Vic (Dot) Kober of Jackson; two sons Billie Alford of Jackson and Edgar Alford of Bossier City, La.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren
