Milton Deemer Ruth was my great-great-grandfather. He was born June 6, 1856, in Durham Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, the son of Peter Shaffer Ruth and Lucy Ann Deemer. He married January 29, 1876, in Leithsville, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, to Amanda Campbell Trauger, daughter of Joseph Klein Trauger and Sarah Campbell. Milton and Amanda were the parents of 5 children, all of whom lived long lives: William Howard, Charles T., Harry Trauger, Mary Louisa and Sarah Mabel Ruth.

"Ruth---In Hellertown, December 30, 1940, Milton D., husband of Amanda (Trauger) Ruth, aged 84 years, 6 months, 24 days. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services Thursday, 2 p.m., from the late home, 55 Main Street, Hellertown. Burial in the Hellertown Union Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening."
