At 2 p.m. Saturday, funeral services were held at the chapel of Macy and Son for Wiley Emmert, who died June 2, 1960, at the age of 79. Interment was in Dayton IOOF cemetery.
Born in Rogersville, Tenn., April 14, 1881, Emmert was the son of James and Mary Shank Emmert. He spent his boyhood in Tennessee and moved to Dayton in 1913. He had lived there since that time, except for a short period.
In June 1903, he married Sarah Martha Cinnamon in Tennessee. She predeceased him on May 13, 1926. January 25, 1928, he married Mildred Proffitt in Dayton. Emmert attended the Dayton Assembly of God church.
Survivors, besides his wife, include six sons, Claude of Dayton, George of Tillamook, Onie Ray and Clinton, both of Portland, Tony of Richmond, Calif., and James of California; a daughter, Mrs. Ida Carey of Tillamook; two brothers, Sam of Nampa, Ida., and Chris of Normal, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Young of Corning, Calif., and Mary Amey Minor of Kingsport, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
