Dorothy Merideth Anderson, 84, passed away Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday at Sagamore Baptist Church, 2301 Dottie Lynn Parkway, Fort Worth. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation: Dorothy will be available for viewing noon to 7 p.m. Sunday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Family visitation: noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Sagamore Baptist Church.
Memorials: The family requests donations to Covenant Christian Academy building fund, 901 Cheek Sparger Road, Colleyville 76034.
Dorothy Alyse Merideth Anderson was born on Oct. 18, 1923, in Van Zandt County to Jesse Vell and Anna Jewel Merideth. She graduated from Mabank High School, attended North Texas Teachers College and was employed at A. Brandt Company for 10 years.
In 1951, she married Leroy Anderson. Together they raised son, Reggie, and daughter, Melanie, on the east side of Fort Worth. Dorothy was a member of the Fort Worth Woman's Club and a lifelong member of Sagamore Hill Baptist Church. She was known for her excellent cooking and loved nothing more than being with her family.
She was preceded in death by husband, Leroy, in 1999, and son, Reggie, in March 2008.
Survivors: Daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Gregg Brunk of Hurst; daughter-in-law, Terri Anderson of Weatherford; grandchildren, Angela and Jason Ashford, Allyson Anderson and fiance, Todd Crookshank, Erica and Aaron Ladwig, Quinn Brunk and Ashley Anderson; great-grandson, Robert Tucker Ashford; siblings, JV and Glee Merideth, Bobbie and Hugh Sessions and Frankie Jean Hyde.
