She was born in Peoria on Jan. 23, 1939, the daughter of Fred and Zelma Atteberry Halsted.
Surviving are two sons, Brad (Jennifer) Buenneke of Bartonville and Troy Buenneke of Wellington, Colo.; and two daughters, Cheryl (Les) Schertz and Dawn Buenneke, both of Metamora. Further surviving are eight grandchildren, along with two sisters, Vivian (Robert) Bear and Lulu Bell Hill, both of Peoria.
Her parents and one brother, Charles Halsted, preceded her in death.
She worked for the village of Metamora, serving as the office manager at the Village Hall from 1989 until her retirement in 2004.
She loved to read and spend time with her family and will be missed by all.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
