RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Charlotte Louise Sweet, 79, of Route 20, died unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, Oct. 11, 2000, in her home.

She was born March 14, 1921, in Ilion, daughter of the late Albert V. and Grace I. Jones McCoy. She was raised in Ilion and graduated from Ilion High School. On Nov. 18, 1944, she married Charles A. Sweet in the First Presbyterian Manse, Ilion, with the Rev. Paul Wagner officiating. A loving and devoted union of 55 years, Mr. Sweet passed away on July 18 of this year. She and her husband had resided in Richfield Springs since 1944 where she owned and operated the Sweet Cabins on Route 20 until 1975. Charlotte enjoyed being outdoors, especially working in her flower gardens. She was a member of the Church of Christ Uniting, Richfield Springs.

Surviving are her son-in-law, Donald J. Morgan, and a grandson, Donald Morgan, both of Newport; two sisters, Edna DeForest and Florence Richards, both of Ilion; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlene Morgan on July 8, 1999, and two sisters, Grace Stephens and Gladys Capes.
