Memorial services for Patricia Ahniwake Tyndall, 95, a 56-year resident of Carson City, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Tyndall died Jan. 22, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. She was born in Indian territory that is now known as Adair Co., Oklahoma, to Thomas Buffington Alberty and Ellen Goree.
She graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma State Teachers College in Tahlequah, OK.
She taught school in Warm Springs, OR, and Nespelem, WA, before moving to Carson City in 1950 to teach at the Stewart Indian School until her retirement in 1972.
She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Ammon Ra Temple No. 56, Daughters of the Nile, Carson City Garden Club, Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, as well as a 4-H and Girl Scout leader.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin Verne Brown; second husband, Christopher Tyndall Jr.; stepson, Christopher Tyndall III; and stepdaughter, Joann Sam.
Among her survivors are sons: Edwin Whitney Brown and Raymond Clayton (Terri) Brown; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery following the memorial.
