Arrived New York May 26
Ship Isaac Webb, [captain] Mortimer, Liverpool, April 15 with mdse. and 187 passengers to [agent and owner] Chas. H. Marshall & Co.
Has been 30 days west of the Banks, with light westerly winds and fogs.
This was quite late for a transatlantic crossing by sailing ship. As the whole crossing took 41 days, the ship must have sailed from Liverpool to the Banks of Newfoundland in 11 days (extremely fast sailing) if the ship took 30 days from the Banks to New York.
New York Times, May 27, 1870
The following were the arrivals at Castle Garden yesterday:
Steam-ship Holsatia, Hamburg, 875
Steam-ship Nevada, Liverpool, 1,256
Steam-ship Batavia, Glasgow, 737
Steam-ship Bremen, Bremen, 329
Ship Beimath [?], Bremen, 238
Steamer Hermann, Bremen, 906
Ship Atmosphere, Liverpool, 277
Total, 4,618 [and they missed the 187 on the Isaac Webb]
(Note: name misspelled on ship passenger list: Michael Mahey)

By 1880 the family had settled in Atlantic, Cass County, Iowa. They found a house on Locust street where they lived for a number of years.
