Stricken with Paralysis.

On Thursday Mrs. Elizabeth Wetzel, wife of Jacob Wetzel, residing in Middlesex township, near Carlisle Springs, was stricken with paralysis. Her condition is quite critical and no hopes for her recovery are entertained.

Death of Mrs. Jacob Wetzel

Mrs. Elizabeth Wetzel, wife of Mr. Jacob Wetzel, residing in Middlesex township, near Carlisle Springs, died Saturday morning about 10 o'clock, aged sixty-five years and three months, after an illness of two days from parlysis. Mrs. Wetzel was a Christian woman and was a member of the Reformed Church at Carlisle Springs, to which congregation she united many years ago.

She was a woman who had many friends, being of a lovable disposition. She was a kind mother and wife, and her many friends will be sorry to learn of her sudden demise.

Mrs. Wetzel was a daughter of the late David Wolf, of Middlesex township, and had spent almost her entire life in the vicinity in which she died. She is survived by a husband and the following children: Mrs. Annie Swigert, of Carlisle, and David and Joseph Wetzel, of Middlesex township.

The following sisters and brothers survive: Mrs. Jacob Brenner, of Berrian Center, Michigan; Mrs. John N. Clingan, of Padoa, Illinois; Mrs. Martin Duey and Mrs. Joseph Duey, of Chester, Neb.; John and Joseph Wolf, of Middlesex township, and William C. Wolf, of Plattsburg, Missouri. Mrs. Mary Duey, who died in Nebraska several years ago, was a daughter of the deceased.

A Largely Attended Funeral.

The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Wetzel, wife of Jacob Wetzel, late of Carlisle Springs, was held in the Carlisle Springs Church on Tuesday morning, Revs. Groh and Brame, of this place, officiating. A large assemblage of people was present and some could not gain admission to the church as it was crowded to its utmost capacity. In the funeral cortege were 93 conveyances. Mesers. D.P. Brindle, Henry Babble, Harry Tolman, Henry Shambaugh, and Harry and A.J. Zeigler were the pall bearers. The interment was made in the adjoining graveyard.
