Mendon, Utah—Marvel Hancock Bartlett, 83 of Mendon died Monday in the Valley View Nursing Home. She was born October 5th, 1894, in Mendon to James B. and Emma Sorensen Hancock. She married Henry Bartlett, April 7th, 1920, in Ogden. He died October 5th, 1965. Mrs. Bartlett received her education in Mendon. Active in the L.D.S. church, she was ward organist for many years, a teacher in the M.I.A. and Primary, and a member of the Relief Society. She played with the Mendon Jazz Orchestra, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a former member of Cache Valley Mayors Association Auxiliary. Also, she had been chairwoman of the Mendon Democratic Party, and a news reporter for the Cache American newspaper. Surviving are two sons and a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Della) Radley, Plain City; Grant H. Bartlett, Salt Lake City, and Ross W. Mendon; six grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday noon in the Mendon Ward chapel, with Bishop Stanton S. Barrett in charge. Friends may call at the Hall Mortuary Wednesday from seven to nine p.m., and at the ward chapel Thursday, one hour prior to services.
