A 17-year-old county employee died yesterday afternoon from an accident involving a railroad gondola car.
The accident victim was identified as Lewis H. Covington, 17, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Covington of Athens. The accident occurred near the county tool house in the northern part of Athens. His father is a veteran county employee and has been on the payroll for many years.
Funeral services are scheduled at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the North Athens Church of Christ with burial in the Athens Cemetery.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Covington and four sisters.
