WINIFRED (Sanie) EAKER, 88, died on August 9, 2008 after a 13 year struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She will be remembered for her playful nature and love for all children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Allie and Cattie Elizabeth Shinn, brother, Robert Shinn, sister, Opal Klump, and husband of 55 years, Harley F. Eaker.
She is survived by her sisters, Kathleen Slocomb of Dallas, and June Rose and husband Ronald of San Antonio; her daughters and their husbands, Judy and Jim Matthews of Houston and Jan and Randy Ripple of Lubbock; her grandchildren, Victoria Matthews, Amber Andrews, Mary Loar, Amy Bollinger, Bob Matthews, Ashley McGuffin, Elizabeth Matthews, and Sarah Matthews; and ten great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on August 12, 2008 at Westminster United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be held in Lockhart, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2242 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030-2008.
