Son of Levi and Margaret (Petty) Ramey. He married first to Sarah Longerbone 19 Feb 1830 in Fayette Co., Ohio. They had eight children, including Almeda Jones. After Sarah's death Jacob married Catharine Ann (Cline) Scott 13 Feb 1873, but they later divorced 22 Feb 1881.
