Charles Raymond Adams

Charles Raymond Adams was the sixth child of David Edward Adams and Caroline Henrietta Lind. He was born at Linden (Juniper), Arizona 16 October 1886. He was still a boy when his parents came to Central. At the age of 19 he was stricken with a severe case of typhoid fever. His sister, Grace, also had it, and his mother was just recovering from a broken leg. She became ill with typhoid which caused her death.

At an early age Raymond married Mabel Echols, daughter of Martin Brown Echols, in the Salt Lake Tem­ple. Their first two children were born in Central, Roy Martin 1 Q February 1910, and Ruth Jessie 12 September 1911. Twins, Flora and Florence, were born 13 Septem­ber 1913.

After the death of the first daughter Ruth and also Flora, Mabel left Raymond and took the baby Flor­ence with her.

Roy was taken to Raymond's sister, Mary Butler, and husband who took care of him until Ray­mond's second marriage to Nellie Soaper. They had one daughter, Endra Evelyn, known as Gertrude.

Later they moved to Pacific Beach, California where Raymond died 4 February 1957.
