Otto Nielsen, son of Adolph and Emma Nielsen, was born near Omaha January 5, 1893 and died at an Omaha hospital December 22, 1969, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 17 days. He attended public school at Springfield, Nebr. He was a farmer and a livestock feeder until 1944 when he moved to Springfield. He was one of the stock holders and directors of the Springfield Bank, had been active in local activities and was the mayor of Springfield for several terms. He was a past master of Springfield Lodge No. 112, A.F. & A.M. and had also been the treasurer of the lodge. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Alma Mundt, and a brother, Ernest Nielsen, both of Papillion, and a number of nieces and nephews. Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Kahler Mortuary, Papillion, with the Rev. C.E. Goldenstein of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Interment was in Springfield Cemetery, Springfield Lodge No. 112, A.F. & A.M., Donald J. Kroese, W.M. was in charge of services at the grave. Pallbearers, all members of the lodge, were Donald J. Kroese, Jack M. Latham, Abram H. Snider, Herman Schnack, Jr., Harry N. Ahl and Dewey Callaway.
