Born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1879 she was orphaned at age 5 and lived at St Joseph's Orphanage in Tiffin, Seneca, Ohio until her older sister was old enough to leave and become guardian of her siblings. She married Michael Stiefel, brother-in-law to her sister, in 1904. In 1916 she died of TB. She was 37 years old.
