Mr. Knabb was a member of the First Baptist Church of Macclenny and served on foundations, boards, and charitable organizations too numerous to name. He was a businessman with interests in timber, real estate development and other ventures.

He was instrumental in the start-up of Little League baseball in Baker County, using his own equipment to build baseball fields and often providing players with transportation to the games. Knabb Field in Macclenny was named in his honor. Girls' softball teams were provided fields on which they could play as well. He was previously the owner of a semi-professional baseball team and was the president and principal owner of the Jacksonville Express, a professional football team.

It is impossible to chronicle all of Mr. Knabb's contributions to individuals and organizations alike. He was truly a humanitarian in every sense of the word. He was predeceased by his wife, Beulah Dugger Knabb.
