At age 79, Mr. Knabb passed away at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in the Sapp Community of Union County, FL and had resided in Macclenny most of his life. He was the son of the late William M. and Ida Wiggins Knabb.

For most of his life, he was self-employed in the timber industry with ownership in LaBuna Farms and Knabb Lands of Baker County, FL. He was instrumental in starting the Little League Assn. of Baker County and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Macclenny, and the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #893 of Lake City, FL. He was a former member of the Macclenny Lions Club, former member of the Baker County School Board for 18 years and former Mayor and City Commissioner for Macclenny, FL. He was survived by his wife, Fannye Knabb; having been married on July 4, 1941. He was also survived by a daughter and two sons.
