Luther F. Brotherton, 63, of 15816 U.S. 67, Milan, formerly of East Moline, died Saturday at Franciscan Medical Center, Rock Island.

Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial is in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation is 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Brotherton was born April 18, 1927, in Kahoka, Mo., where he married Marie Shaver.

He was a laborer for the Rock Island Park and Recreation Department. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the Geneseo Moose, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Keokuk.

Survivors include a daughter, Lena Parkin, Warsaw, Ill.; sons Farris Brotherton, Warsaw, Randy Brotherton, Burlington, Iowa, Robin Brotherton, Winter Haven, Fla., and Earl Brotherton, Davenport; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters Mildred Nichols and Maureen Hoskins, both of Keokuk, Marilyn Frey, Warsaw, Mabel Warren Salem, Mo., and Karen Hoeing, Ursa: brothers Edmond Brotherton, Fort Madison, Iowa, Elmer Brotherton, Keokuk, Leland Brotherton, Alexandria, Mo., Paul Brotherton, Kahoka Mo and Marvin Brotherton, West Point, Iowa; and a special friend, Virginia Beechamp, Milan.
