Mrs. Herbert J. Slatkin, 38, of 2233 Ward Parkway, died in a hospital at 12:30 a. m. Friday of a ruptured appendix.

She was admitted to the hospital Wednesday morning.

Mrs. Slatkin, the former Miss Bea Frankrich, was a lifelong resident of Fort Worth and a graduate of Paschal High School.

She was vice president of Hadassah and a member of Beth-El and Ahavath Sholom Congregations, the Ladies Auxiliary of Ahavath Sholom, the Sisterhood of Temple Beth-El and the National Council of Jewish Women.

Mrs. Slatkin was active in the B'nai B'rith Little Theater and the Parent-Teacher Association
of Lily B. Clayton Elementary School.

Survivors are her husband; a son, Richard A. Slatkin; a daughter, Kathy Slatkin; two brothers, Sam and Leslie Frankrich of Fort Worth, and four sisters, Mmes. Irving Pruden and Jack Schloss of Fort Worth, Nathan Donsky of San Angelo and Max Ellis of Abilene.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p. m. Friday in Robertson-Mueller-Harper Chapel by Rabbi Milton Rosenbaum and Rabbi Isadore Garsek. Burial will be held in Ahavath Sholom.

Pallbearers will be Leo Lipshitz, Leon G. Schwartz, M. B. Meyerson, David Gordon, Charles Anton, Sam Kimmell, H. B. Lind and M. M. Goldman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Gachman, Dan Gachman, Jack Blum, Sam Schwartz, Paul T. Herman and Bernard Solway.
