Mrs. Georgia Ellen Pfeiffer, 87, a resident of Jacksonville since 1901, died yesterday afternoon in a local hospital following an illness of about six weeks. Mrs. Pfeiffer was the widow of Charles P. Pfeiffer, who died here in 1929. She was a native of Taylor, and lived in Baker and Columbia Counties before moving to Jacksonville. She is survived by four daughters; Mrs. Ross Hoffman, Mrs. Harry Finch, and Mrs. Malcom H. Wiggins of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Robert Vogel of Jacksonville Beach, three sons; Charles J. Pfeiffer Sr., Maurice J. Pfeiffer and Forrest J. Pfeiffer, all of this city; a brother, Lonnie Combs of Jacksonville; a sister, Mrs. Jessie Dortch of Lake City; two half brothers; Roe Combs of Tampa and Claude Combs, Lake City, four half sisters; Mrs. Annie Mae Perry, Mrs. Gladys Gillis, Mrs. Alma Jones, and Mrs. Felton Houston, all of Lake City, 16 grandchildren and 5 great grand children. Mrs. Pfeiffer was a long time member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The Rosary will be recited at 8 P.M. today at Memorial Chapel of Seashole Funeral Parlors. Service of the Mass will be at 9:30 A.M. Wednesday, at Holy Rosary Church, and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
