He was born Nov. 7, 1910 near Wallace, Indiana, son of William and Bessie Smith Summers. Paul married Mildred Allen on July 2, 1932 at Rockville, Indiana. She died Oct. 21, 1998. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, two brothers, and a great-grandson.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Bushue; three sons, Robert (Margaret) Summers, Joseph (Jane) Summers and Keith Summers; a sister-in-law, Edith Summers; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was a life resident of Fountain County and a farmer. A longtime member of West Liberty Church of Christ, he was a Sunday school teacher for more than 30 years and served as deacon and elder. He graduated from Covington High School in 1928. Paul enjoyed his family, church, fishing, boating, and making maple syrup. He served as Wabash Township Trustee eight years.
