Mary Trottier was the daughter of Charles Rezaine Trottier and Elmire Poisson Trottier. She married Francis Xavier Provost on November 27, 1883 at St. Augustines, Republic, Marquette, Michigan. In the 1920's they moved to Crosby, Crow Wing, Minnesota. Their children were:Joseph Jule Taphile Provost, Joseph Romeo Provost, Selina Marie Provost, Marie Lena Provost, Joseph Henry Provost, Oscar Louis Provost, Euclid Oliver Provost, Mai Provost, Caroline Clara Provost, Lillian Mercedes Provost, and Clara Pamela Provost.

Funeral Services for Mrs. F. X. Provost Held Last Saturday

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 9:00 o'clock from the St. Joseph's Catholic church for Mrs. F. X. Provost, who died the Thursday previous at the home of her son, Oscar Provost. The Rev. Fr. P. J. Maloney officiated.

Palbearers were John Rochon, William Langevin, George Houde, I. Rochon, A. J. Giroux and Dennis Reagan. Internment was in Lakewood Cemetery.

Mary Trottier was born on December 7, 1867 at Lake Linden, Michigan. She was married to F. X. Provost in 1883 at Republic, Michigan. A few years later they moved to Trout Creek, Michigan, where they settled on a homestead. They came to Crosby in 1928 where Mr. Provost preceded him in death in 1933.

Surviving are eight children, Clara Romain, Minneapolis; Selma (Selina)Kohanek, Remer; Marie Dean, Bergland, Michigan; Henry Provost, Sidnaw, Michigan; Oscar, Crosby; Euclid Provost, Trout Creek, Mich.; Caroline Hasse, Detroit, Mich.; and Lillian Paige, Minneapolis. Two children died in infancy and one son, Joseph, died here in July, 1926. Her father also died here on April 16, 1937. A sister and three brothers also survive.

Out-of-town friends and relatives here to attend the funeral were: David St. Onge, Marquette, Mich.; Frank and William St. Onge, North Lake, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Myron Huff, Staples; Mrs Clara Romain and Betty, Francis, Agnes and Edward Romain, Lillian Paige and daughter Audrey, Mr. and Mrs. William Van Epps and son James and William La Daux, all of Minneapolis; Mrs. David Dean and daughter Mercedes, Bergland, Mich.; Euclid Provost, Trout Creek, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Provost, Sidnaw, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kohanek and Marie and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Leesley of Remer.
