Obituary of James Bristow
James Austin Bristow, son of Miles and Mary E. Bristow was born in Daviess county, 5 miles north of Hamilton, May 27, 1872, and departed this life suddenly at his home with a heart ailment June 23, 1948. He had been in failing health about three years. He was aged 76 years and 27 days.
Mr. Bristow had spent his life in Sheridan township and engaged in farming.
He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Viola Walker on Oct. 15, 1893. She preceded him in death in February, 1942. Since that time he and his brother, Ed Bristow have lived together.
He is survived by three brothers, Sam, Ed and Ernest, all of Hamilton; two sisters, Mary Snyder of Prague, Okla., and Sallie Lynch of Gallatin besides other relatives and many friends.
The funeral service was held at the Bram Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. James Heath. Pallbearers were his neighbors, Alva and Guy McCrary, Walter Edwards, Charles Gaines, Jim Snider and Wilbur Berry. Interment was made in Highland cemetery.
