William M. Bristow, 85, Passes Away Thursday W.M. Bristow, for 56 years a resident of Sheridan township, passed away last Thursday following an illness of several weeks at the age of 85 years, one month and 28 days.
The funeral service was held at the Methodist Church in Hamilton Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. James Heath. Interment was made in Highland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were former pupils of the deceased: Earl Morrow, Walter Edwards, Harry Neal, Guy McCrary, Fletcher Gammill and Lester Combs.
The following life story of Mr. Bristow as read at the funeral service:
William Miles, son of Miles and Mary Ellen Bristow, was born February 10, 1863, in Ray county near Orrick, Mo., and departed this life at his home near Hamilton Thursday, April 8, 1948.
He was united in marriage to Mary Margaret McCrary March 14, 1886, and to this union two sons were born, Claude and Frank. His wife passed away Nov. 11, 1936, and Frank followed Feb. 17, 1944.
He lived a full Christian life, uniting with the Baptist Church while still a young man.
He was an active member of the community and will be remembered by most of the neighbors as their teacher, as he spent 20 years teaching in neighboring schools.
He leaves to mourn his passing his son, Claude Ernest; two daughters-in-law, four brothers, James, Edgar, Samuel and Ernest, all of Hamilton; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Snyder, Prague, Okla.; and Mrs. Tom Lynch,
Gallatin, Mo.; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
