After the death of David Jones, Kezia desiring to have her family settled around her, and not being able to purcpase land as high priced as it was in New England, emigrated from Granville, Mass., in 1807, to Ohio and settled in Wayne Township. It was quite an undertaking at best; and to a widow with seven children, ranging in age from eleven to twenty-four years of age, it must have seemed an herculean task; but it only shows the extent to which a mother's love for her offspring will lead her. The children grew up worthy citizens, and took their share of the privations incident to a new settlement.
