JACK J. BRENT age 82, of Murfreesboro, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at his home. He was a native of Magnolia, Mississippi and was preceded in death by his wife: Grace Westbrook Brent and one great granddaughter. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Rev. Brady Cooper and Rev. John Michael Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Warren and Jana Brent of Lascassas, daughters and sons-in-law: Caryl and Tim Henley of Murfreesboro, Laura and Tony Taylor of Lebanon, Lisa and Mark Duke of Beech Grove, Leslee and Craig Nelius of Murfreesboro, 18 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
Mr. Brent was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, a U S Navy veteran serving in WWII, and a retired book salesman for D.C. Heath & Company. He was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Alabama Teen Challenge and the Pregnancy Support Center. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel and 11:00 am Friday until time of service at Trinity United Methodist Church.
