Leslee Brent Nelius, age 51, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2021, surrounded by her husband and children, the loves of her life. She was born June 20, 1970, to Jack and Grace Brent. Leslee married Craig Nelius, her "rock," "forever the one," her "answer to prayer" on July 11, 1998. Leslee graduated from MTSU in 1993 with a degree in speech pathology and wherever she worked, whatever work she did, she worked hard at it. But what she is most known for, what she will always be remembered for is how she never had to work hard at loving Jesus or people. That was just who she was. Leslee had an uncanny ability to make everyone she knew feel that they were her best friend forever. Everyone! If you knew Leslee, you knew you were sincerely loved and that you had a selfless, generous, compassionate prayer warrior standing in the gap for you. Always! She loved Jesus first and foremost, with every fiber of her being, and she was never shy about telling anyone and everyone why they needed Him and how to find Him. Leslee wasn't shy about ANYTHING! She was an amazing "all in, give it all you got, larger than life, passionate, adventurous, fun-loving, event planning, party-throwing, camper loving, memory-making, never met a stranger, miracle-believing, faithful, no judgement kind of lady." She did everything she could to help people with anything and everything they needed. She loved hard. She gave herself fully. But she never let anything distract her from God. Preceded in death by her parents Jack Jay and Veta Grace Brent. Survived by her husband Craig Nelius, her beloved children, Jackson, Garrett, and Grace Nelius, her brother Warren (Jana) Brent, and sisters Caryl (Tim, deceased) Henley, Laura (Tony) Taylor, and Lisa (Mark) Duke. A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends too numerous to name here. But Leslee could because you were ALL her people and she loved you! All those whose lives Leslee touched are invited to visitation Monday September 27, 2021 from 3-6pm at New Vision Baptist Church, 1750 N. Thompson Lane, Murfreesboro, to reminisce, grieve, tell "Leslee stories," and support each other. Her celebration of life service will begin at 6pm. "Love You More" In lieu of flowers donations may be made to His Hands of Hope, 2364 Paseo de las Americas 104-1024, San Diego, CA 92154. You may give through PayPal or online at www.hishandsofhope.net.
