"Mr. Elias Eckenrode, who formerly resided at RFD 1, Adamstown and more recently had been a guest at the Vindobona Nursing Home, died Sunday evening, Feb. 22, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Frederick County on Aug 24, 1890, the son of the late Joseph F. and Irene Ada Horner Eckenrode and was the last of his immediate family.
Mr. Eckenrode for a number of years had been employed by the Three Springs Fisheries of Lilypons.
Surviving him are several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Smith, Fadeley, Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, (formerly Etchison's), 106 E. Church St. on Tuesday evening, Feb. 24, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Mr. Olivet Cemetery."

Funeral services for Mr. Elias Eckenrode, who formerlay resided at Rt. 1 Adamstown and who died on Sunday evening, Feb. 22, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital were held on Wednesday afternoon, Feb 25, at 2 p.m. from the Smith, Fadeley, Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, (formerly Etchison's), 106 E. Church St. The Rev. Robert E. Zimmerli, pastor of the Calvary United Methodist Church, officiated.
Pallbearers were John W. Witmer, Harry L. Witmer, William F. Lee Jr., Mark W. Lee, Perry Cosgrave and James C. Cosgrave. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery."
Elias' name & dates are on a large monument with his mother & brother Jonnie's, names & dates on the other sides. The surname on the monument is "Eckenrad".
