FATAL TERMINATION OF LENGTHY ILLNESS
Death came to the relief of Mrs Frances Edna Baker Wednesday afternoon at her patents home in North Sonora, after an illness extending over several years.
Mrs Baker was the eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Peters. She was born in Sonora on August 22, 1889 and at the time of her death was 28 years, 9 months and 13 days of age. She was reared here and though never overly strong and robust she entered into all the play and pastimes of her schoolmates and by her kind, genial, fun loving disposition she made herself a prime favorite with all. In her maturer years these winning attributes remained with her and even when nature paced her in the shadow the weak heart that undermined her health did not lose all the joy with which was wont to thrill in the happier and earlier days of her life. She was gentle, kind to everybody, tender and true to those of the household and the regret is general that the fates marked her for an untimely grave. A husband and child, father, mother, sisters and brothers are left to mourn her departure.
The funeral was held this Friday afternoon fro the home of the parents of the deceased in Snell Street. It was under the auspices of Sierra Rebekah lodge IOOF of which she was an honored member, at one time being a Noble Grand. She was also a member of Sonora Circle C of F of A which organisation attended in body. A large number of friends other than her fraternal sisters followed her remains to the IOOF cemetery where internment was made.
