Bernice was born to Frank C. & Florence M. (Jordan) Blacker, on a farm near Jewell, KS. She attended North Star country school near their home. On Apr. 22, 1920, she married Thomas S. Mohler, at Mankato, KS. To this union nine children were born. Gerald, Ferald, Samuel, LaVetta, LaVella, Dwight, Clede, Harlan & Thomas.They lived in Jewell County Ks., then to Bostwick, Ne. When he retired they moved to Superior, NE. Bernice served as assistant postmaster in Bostwick for 32 years. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church for 50 yrs.
While living in Bostwick Their home was a large brick building. The post office was in the front & the living quarters was in the back. Bernice did a great job of making it a comfortable home & the doors were always open to everyone.
